The longer answer
The color rules for brick homes:
- Match your existing trim, not the brick. Gutters are part of the trim package along with fascia, soffit, and window frames. Picking gutter color separately from trim makes the house look mismatched.
- If you have white trim: White gutters. Crisp and modern. Works on any brick color.
- If you have brown or beige trim: Musket Brown, Royal Brown, or Almond. Blends.
- If you have dark trim (charcoal, black): Black or bronze gutters. Modern look, increasingly popular.
- If you have multi-color trim: Pick the dominant trim color.
Specific brick + gutter pairings that work in KC:
- Red brick + white trim: White gutters (most common)
- Red brick + dark trim: Black or bronze gutters
- Brown/tan brick + cream trim: Almond or wicker gutters
- Multi-color (tan/red/brown) brick: Bronze or musket brown gutters
- Painted brick (white): White or charcoal gutters for contrast
For HOA-governed neighborhoods (most upscale KC areas), your HOA likely has an approved color list. We provide color samples to bring to your ARC submission. See our HOA Approval page for the common approved colors.
