The longer answer

2026 Kansas City copper pricing (what we actually quote):

  1. K-style seamless copper, installed: $30–$55 per linear foot — 16 oz or 20 oz copper, roll-formed seamless on-site, joints soldered (not caulked), hung on hidden hangers.
  2. Typical whole-house total: roughly $5,000–$12,000 for the 160–220 linear feet on most KC homes — large or complex rooflines run higher.
  3. Copper downspouts: included in the per-foot system price on full installs — matching copper drops are what make the look.
  4. For comparison: seamless aluminum runs $7–$14 per linear foot installed in KC. Copper is the premium play, not the budget one.

What moves the price: copper weight (20 oz costs more than 16 oz), total footage, roof height and access, the number of corners — every miter is soldered by hand — and the number of downspouts. The raw copper itself is the biggest driver: it’s a commodity metal, so quotes track the copper market.

What we install — and don’t. We install K-style seamless copper only. We don’t offer half-round profiles — K-style holds more water for KC’s downpours, and seamless runs mean fewer joints to solder and fewer places to ever leak.

Why copper is worth it on the right house. On brick Tudors, stone colonials, and historic KC homes, copper is the period-correct choice — it starts bright, turns penny-brown in a year or two, and ages into the blue-green patina you see on century-old buildings. It never rusts and never needs paint, and ours carries a lifetime material warranty plus our 10-year workmanship warranty. Read the full breakdown in our copper vs. aluminum guide for historic KC homes.

A caution on online estimates: national cost sites often price copper material only — the number that matters is installed cost with soldered joints, because the soldering is skilled, slow work and it’s exactly what makes a copper system last 60+ years.
