Do You Tip Christmas Light Installers?
Tipping is never expected, but it is appreciated — if a crew does exceptional work, $10–$20 per installer or cold drinks and a good review are all generous, normal gestures.
Professional Christmas light installers are paid a fair rate for the job, so there’s no obligation — nobody is standing on your roof hoping for a tip. That said, if the crew hustled through cold weather, nailed a tricky peak, or squeezed you in before Thanksgiving, plenty of Kansas City homeowners hand the crew $10–$20 each or a round of hot coffee, and every installer appreciates it.
Honestly, the tip crews value most costs nothing: a specific Google review naming what the crew did well. It helps the installers directly and helps the next homeowner find them.
One thing you never need to do: tip to get better service. Mid-season fixes, careful attachment, and January takedown are part of the package at any reputable company — including ours.
