Gutter color is a small detail that makes a huge difference in curb appeal. Here are the colors we're installing most in KC right now — and why.

The 2026 KC gutter color trends

After 200+ installs across the KC metro this year, here's what's actually selling:

1. Black (the trend winner)

Black gutters with black trim are the dominant 2026 trend on modern farmhouse, transitional, and contemporary homes. They disappear visually against most rooflines, making the house look cleaner. Works especially well on white, gray, or light-colored siding.

Best on: Modern farmhouse, contemporary, transitional

2. Charcoal (the safer black)

If pure black feels too stark, charcoal hits the same modern look with slightly softer contrast. Easier to match if you have dark gray or charcoal trim.

Best on: Transitional, craftsman, mid-century

3. White (timeless)

Still our most-installed color. White gutters with white trim is the default for traditional colonial, brick, and most KC ranches. Clean, classic, never goes out of style.

Best on: Colonial, brick, traditional ranches

4. Bronze (the upscale pick)

Bronze gives the rich look of copper without the cost. Works beautifully on tan/brown brick homes, Mediterranean revivals, and Tudor styles. Develops a slightly weathered look over years.

Best on: Tudor, Mediterranean, multi-color brick

5. Musket Brown (KC's quiet workhorse)

Most-installed color in HOA-governed neighborhoods like Leawood, Wycliff, and Hallbrook because it blends with most existing trim. Disappears against most rooflines.

Best on: Brown/tan trim homes, HOA-strict areas

The one rule that beats every trend

Match your existing trim, not the brick or siding. Gutters are part of your trim package — fascia, soffit, windows. Picking gutter color separately from trim makes the house look mismatched. If your trim is white, your gutters should be white. If your trim is black, your gutters should be black.

What about HOA neighborhoods?

Most upscale KC HOAs (Mission Hills, Leawood, Wycliff, Hallbrook, Mills Farm) require ARC approval with a specific approved color list. We bring 30+ Sherwin-Williams Kynar color samples to every walk and provide the HOA submission packet. See our HOA Approval page for details.
