Cast iron sump pump replacement: $1,500-$2,800 installed - old pump removed, cast iron unit set in your existing pit, new check valve, full test cycle. Battery backup option quoted with every job.

Why cast iron: sump pumps die by overheating, and cast iron wicks heat off the motor. In KC clay, where pumps cycle constantly through wet springs, that's often the difference between a 3-year and a 10-year pump.

The honest check first: if your pump runs constantly, the discharge may be dumping water beside the foundation so the same water recycles back to the pit. Fixing that - a buried discharge line to a pop-up emitter, $300-$700 - sometimes saves the pump. We don't sell pumps to people who need pipe.

Pumps last 7-10 years typically. Finished basement = replace on schedule + battery backup.
