What is a Xeriscape (and Gutters)?

Full definition

Xeriscape is a landscaping approach using drought-tolerant plants and minimal supplemental water. Homeowners moving to xeriscape often want to capture downspout water for plant beds — this can be done with rain barrels, French drains to specific bed areas, or pop-up emitters into garden zones.

In KC's clay-soil environment, xeriscape pairs well with proper downspout extension because we're keeping water OUT of the foundation while directing it toward planted areas that benefit.
