What is a Hail Damage?

Hail Damage: Denting or perforation of gutter material caused by hailstones during severe weather.

Full definition

Hail damage to gutters appears as round dents on gutter bottoms (visible from ladder height), bent end caps, separation at miters, and in extreme cases punctures or splits. Standard residential aluminum gutters (.027") begin denting at 0.75-inch hail; .032" aluminum at 1.0-inch; steel at 1.25-inch.

Hail damage is covered under standard homeowner's insurance HO-3 policies in MO and KS. Filing the claim within the 5-year statute of limitations is critical.
