What is a Galvalume?

Galvalume: A steel gutter coating combining aluminum and zinc — better corrosion resistance than plain galvanized.

Full definition

Galvalume is a steel coating made of approximately 55% aluminum and 45% zinc. It's significantly more corrosion-resistant than plain galvanized steel and is the typical choice for steel residential gutters today.

Galvalume gutters can last 40-50 years in KC's climate, but they're heavier than aluminum, more expensive, and still rust if the coating gets scratched.
