To file a Allstate gutter claim in Missouri: call (800) 255-7828 within 5 years of the storm date (MO statute of limitations). Get an independent contractor inspection BEFORE the adjuster arrives so you have your own Xactimate scope to compare.

The 5-step process

  1. Document the damage BEFORE you call anyone. Photos of every elevation, close-ups of dents/separation, date-stamped if possible. Storm date + hail size if known.
  2. Get an independent contractor inspection. Premier Gutters KC inspects free in 24-48 hrs and gives you a written Xactimate-style scope. This is your bargaining position.
  3. Call Allstate at (800) 255-7828. File the claim. Get a claim number. Note your adjuster's name + cell phone.
  4. Meet the adjuster on-site WITH your contractor. The adjuster will write their own Xactimate scope. Your contractor stands there with the independent scope and points out anything missed. This is where you win or lose the claim.
  5. Submit supplements within 30 days. When install begins and we find hidden damage (rotted fascia, bent hangers, damaged drip edge), we submit a written supplement to Allstate with photos. Missouri requires response within 30 days.

Supplement timingMissouri insurance code §379.140 requires insurers to respond to supplement requests within 30 days. If scope changes during installation (rotted fascia, hidden damage), submit a written supplement with photos.
Appraisal clauseMost MO HO-3 policies include an appraisal clause allowing either party to invoke binding appraisal if the adjuster and contractor cannot agree on the scope or cost. Each side appoints an appraiser; a neutral umpire breaks ties.
Matching lawMissouri does NOT have a statewide matching law. Insurers are not legally required to replace undamaged sections to match — but most reasonable adjusters will replace a full elevation to maintain uniform appearance.

If your claim is denied or lowballed

You have three escalation paths in Missouri:

  3. Hire a public adjuster. Public adjusters work for YOU (not the insurer) on a contingency. Usually 10-15% of the claim. Best for claims over $10K.
